During Turtle Season (May 1-Oct 31) flashlights should have a red lens on them. White lights confuse the females when they lay eggs and the hatchlings as they try to make their way to the water.
Red lens stickers are available at the Visitor Center in town, The Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Center on 10th Street, and at both markets on the Cape.
